Makes me think of postcards I bought in Italy when I was travelling there in winter 1990, imagining what the countryside would look like in the summer. I have yet to go back there at the right time of year to see the sunflowers in the fields, and feel the heat rising up off the piazzas. Dreams of flowers….

Peonies opening. Coral peonies start life a watermelon pink colour and transform to coral then finally turn a pale buttery yellow before the thick, delicate petals fall. Stunning.
