When I showed this one to my son James he just said, “Wow.” He’s a tough customer so I was rather pleased with that feedback. My friend Kitsy said, “What is it? It looks like a coral reef from the air. I want it.” She got it. She was one of my first customers. Thank you, darling Kitsy Lawes.
I took this photo of the inside of a paua shell in New Zealand. In Australia we call the creatures who live in these shells ‘abalone’. The one who made this shell was a genius.
