Anemones, Cosmos, Pat Austen roses from my garden. Named after one of the flowers in this photograph it makes me think of a starry night sky if all the stars were flowers. Some of you may get what I mean.

Makes me think of postcards I bought in Italy when I was travelling there in winter 1990, imagining what the countryside would look like in the summer. I have yet to go back there at the right time of year to see the sunflowers in the fields, and feel the heat rising up off the piazzas. Dreams of flowers….

These roses are all from my garden and have an intoxicating perfume. This photograph is named for artist Mirka Mora. I love her work and her wicked sense of humour. You never know when she is going to do something naughty. Her advice to me, for art and life, was to “Rêve Eveillé” (daydream).
